The Alabama Society of Certified Public Accountants (ASCPA) is the statewide, professional membership organization representing over 6,500 Alabama CPAs in public practice, industry, government and education. Eleven chapters, various committees and task force groups made up of CPA volunteers develop programs and address issues to help all members be successful professionals.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
The ASCPA offers more than 200 Continuing Professional Education programs annually to help members increase their value to their clients, companies or organizations and to help them meet requirements established by the Alabama State Board of Public Accountancy.
GOVERNMENTAL AFFAIRS
The ASCPA is active in governmental affairs, monitoring and responding to issues that affect CPAs and their clients. The ASCPA has been successful in getting important legislation passed through the hard work of committee members and an active, statewide member network.
EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION
The ASCPA Educational Foundation strives to attract the best and brightest individuals into the accounting profession. The Foundation is supported by financial contributions from Alabama CPAs and awards annual scholarships to accounting students at 24 of Alabama’s colleges and universities.
YOUNG CPAs
The Young CPAs represent a growing percentage of CPAs in Alabama, CPAs under 35 years of age. A division of the ASCPA Board of Directors, the Young CPAs are devoted to serving their communities through charity initiatives, recruiting the best and brightest into the accounting profession, and focusing on professional development.
